Dear Supporter,
If you could help just one child achieve a better education and prepare for college, would you do it? If you could help all of the students and teachers in the PVUSD, would you do that? These are important questions, especially when you consider that Arizona's schools receive much less government funding per student than that provided by most other states.
Paradise Valley Unified School District has done a remarkable job raising the level of achievement in our schools, but the District's hands have been tied by the limited availability of public school funding. Statistics continue to show that many of our students are not academically prepared for college. The District's budget simply is stretched too thin; and as a result, additional programs that would increase the level of preparedness have not been implemented. We must begin to bridge that financial gap; it is the only way we will be able to ensure that our students will attain the level of academic preparedness necessary to compete effectively for admission to our nation's best colleges and universities.
It is with this in mind that a group of dedicated volunteers joined forces to create The Foundation for Public Education, a 501(c)3 public charity, whose mission is to support the District by fostering excellence in public education. The Foundation will accomplish this mission by developing, funding and otherwise supporting innovative, sustainable and readily measurable programs designed to enhance the academic quality and reputation of the Paradise Valley Unified School District.
