Damien R. Meyer
I joined the Board of Directors for the Foundation for Public Education in 2011 after serving on the Golf Tournament Committee in 2010. I have lived in the Paradise Valley School District since 2003. I attended public schools from elementary through high school while growing up in Iowa. I will forever be grateful for those teachers and coaches who provided me the opportunity to receive an excellent education and offered mentorship that was critical during those formative years. I firmly believe that every child deserves these same opportunities. Additionally, as the father of two young children living in the school district, I want to do what I can to ensure they have the option to receive a quality education from our public schools.
It is the goal of The Foundation for Public Education to “ensure our graduates’ success.” As a board member for the Foundation for Public Education, I strive to help make this possible through fundraising efforts and forming partnerships with local businesses to benefit the school district. The goal of our efforts is to work jointly with the school district to create programs and events that provide opportunities for students to receive scholarships, internships and mentorship that will help them succeed through high school and beyond.
I am a civil litigation attorney at Ridenour, Hienton & Lewis, PLLC in Phoenix. My practice is focused in the areas of commercial, real estate and construction litigation, as well as providing general counsel to businesses in their day-to-day operations. I have extensive experience in representing private businesses and individuals, contractors and real estate developers in all areas of their business including contractual analysis and disputes, collection and payment disputes, tort liability and negotiation of pre-litigation disputes to avoid formal litigation. I have represented clients in Arizona State and Federal courts, the Arizona Court of Appeals, in private arbitrations and before several state administrative agencies.
