byBeth A. Yates, Communications Chairman

Beth is an entrepreneur, having developed four highly successful businesses over 20 years. Currently, she co-owns a restaurant repair company and an investment company. Beth served as a Board member at a PVUSD middle school, where she also co-chaired the school's largest annual fundraiser. Community service is second nature to her with school parent organization involvement in Colorado and Arizona over an eighteen year period; as well as initiating and running a woman's support group in Colorado. Other interests include reading, creative writing, organizing and hockey. One of Beth's sons attends high school in PVUSD and her other son and granddaughter live in Colorado.

There are several reasons why I decided to get involved with The Foundation:

Helping the children in our community is very important to me. They are, after all, the ones who will be taking care of us some day!

Interacting with the district leaders, teachers, parents, committee members and especially the other Board Members is fun and inspiring.

But the main reason I got involved was the result of a conversation with my youngest son when he was 13. He expressed genuine fear about the future of his generation after hearing so much negative press about Arizona's public schools. It was then that I knew I had to get involved. For me, it's simple. I'm doing this for my son... and for your sons, and for your daughters. because if we all work together, we can truly make a difference.
