The coin filled banks, donated by Camelback Community Bank, were collected from each school by Eagle Scout volunteers and transported to the bank in a Brinks armored truck.
Quoted Janice Grandy, Chairman and CEO of The Foundation, "Our annual Change Maker has a twofold approach; first being a community Awareness Campaign of The Foundation and its mission to 'Foster Excellence in Public Education' and second to raise funds for educational programs contributing to college-going success."
In its inaugural year, The Foundation has announced over $100,000 in grants to PVUSD for programs that promote a college-going culture and support all students, including the International Baccalaureate Elementary and Middle Years Programme candidacy, as well as college-going centers in five high schools.

Boulder Creek Elementary School raised over $1,800 under the leadership of PTO President, Paula Fry. A contest was presented to all students and staff with an award of a Jamba Juice party for the two classes who collected the most change on Foundation Day.
The winner of the Kindergarten - 3rd grade contest was Mrs. Webb's Kindergarten class, and the winner of the 4th - 6th grade contest was Ms. Zahniser's 4th grade class! As a side note, the PTO gave Popsicles (donated by Dreyer's) to all of the students as a thank you for their participation.
Congratulations to Boulder Creek students and to the PTO for their creativity and their generous support of The Foundation!
